Etched and Sand Carved Art Glass by Cynthia Myers

A little plant sprouted up at the edge of my lawn a few years ago. I had never seen it before and really wasn't sure what it was, but it grew and grew then bloomed with these amazing delicate chiffon like flowers all summer long. It was this Hollyhock.

I am not sure where it came from, possibly a bird dropped a seed, but it was a very special event and almost all of the customers that came to my showroom moved towards the Hollyhock before they came inside the showroom.

The golden topaz color of this impressive 25" tall vase is brilliant and glows in the light. I have carved away the lip with several of the Hollyhock leaves giving an irregular lip that catches the sunlight. Hand blown in West Virginia.

Topaz vase.
