Great Blue Heron

The Great Blue Heron has been my most popular piece since I created it. This piece has the most dramatic cut-away lip of all my work and it often creates an optical illusion making it look like a complete globe. I have drawn and etched a flying Heron through the trees on the back of the vase. The glow of the topaz color highlights the detail of this statuesque bird head and face, and also catches light at the edge of the wing tips.
