Fuchsias and Hummingbirds the shape of this vase has changed a bit the lip is more flared
Fuchsias grow in many shapes and many colors and sizes, but they are always an easy flower to identify, with their hanging stamens. Fuchsias grow very well here in coastal Northern California and are nearly always keep the company of Hummingbirds; fuchsias must produce a favorite nectar for the birds.
The vase is etched with many stems of these delightful flowers hanging down all the way around the piece. I have placed two Hummingbirds on this vase, each hovering at a flower ready to drink its sweet meal.
A garland of leaves surrounds the top of this vase and I have 'cut-away' the lip leaving the serrated edges of the leaves as a focus that will catch the light and glow in a transparency of color.
